Sofia Bordone, CEO of Editoriale Domus, begins her speech at domusforum describing it as “an event in which the typical world of Domus, related to architecture and design, meets the world of other sciences, such as politics, economics, sociology, with the aim of discussing current issues and to define possible future scenarios together”.

In this edition, domusforum focused on cities, giving particular attention to the topic of energy. Cities are “the protagonists of our century” and represent a challenge under different aspects, environmental, social, economic and cultural.

“By 2030, 70% of human beings will live in urban contexts. Today’s cities already produce 70% of the wealth and consume 75% of the energy. They are responsible for the production of two thirds of greenhouse gases globally”, explains Sofia Bordone.

Numbers that provide an opportunity to reflect on the importance of cities in our time and to start domusforum 2019.
