The eccentric group of designers and artists, Droog, are in Australia for the first time with the exhibition “Human Touch” inside the Sydney Opera House.
With 52 objects by 40 designers, the Dutch team based in Amsterdam takes to the other side of the world a lifestyle that combines functionality, innovation and conceptual clarity with a humorous dose of off the wall creativity. On show are objects by Marcel Wanders, Narita Tadaaki and co-founder Gijs Bakker who on 8 August at 1900h will be meeting with the public to talk about the “Droog philosophy”.
The exhibition is part of the programme for “Sydney Design 06”, the tenth edition of the design festival sponsored by the Powerhouse Museum that will be animating the streets of Sydney from 5 to 20 August. After Sydney, “Human Touch” will move to Oceania, Japan, Korea and South America. E.S.
