Emily Campbell, head of the Design and Architecture department at the British Council in London will be presenting three young British studios appearing in Holland for the first time, Loop.pH, Studio Bec and Wokmedia. Introduced by Gijs Bakker the designers will be talking about their sources of inspiration and future projects. Events begin tonight at 1845h with the opening of the exhibition that the Amsterdam gallery has dedicated to the work of these young designers.

Products of the hotbed for talent that is the Royal College of Art, the three studios actually have little in common in terms of either origin or approach. Julia Lohmann deals with the relationship between design and animals, Michael Cross and Julie Mathias from Wokmedia look into the meaning we tend to ascribe to objects and Rachel Wingfield and Mathias Gmachl from Loop.pH will be presenting their work on light and colour which has brought them to the public eye.

The exhibition is the first of a series that deals with European designers, after Great Britain it will then be the turn of Portugal. E.S.
