Balthus
With over 250 works, this is the largest show ever dedicated to Balthus which reconstructs the very long and successful career of the painter who, for a long time, was reputed to be the greatest living artist. It is the first posthumous tribute to the great artist who passed away last February 18 at the age of 92. Curated by Jean Clair, this is the first retrospective of one of the masters of the twentieth century who is among the few artists to have had, while living, their works exhibited at the Louvre.
