During 2022 almost 60% of the apartments ready for delivery in Milan had services and interiors by Milano Contract District:a company capable of responding to the changing needs of the residential property market.

The Milanese urban landscape is the one in Italy that is changing most dynamically, transforming the city into a metropolis with international ambitions.

In recent years, we have seen a proliferation of buildings, public or private, created by the great stars of architecture: from David Chipperfield's MUDEC to the various buildings of Bocconi University constructed by Grafton Architects and SANAA, from Fondazione Prada by the Dutch firm OMA to City Life, featuring projects by Zaha Hadid and Daniel Libeskind. In just a few years, Milan has seen its skyline radically transformed: the aforementioned City Life, the Bosco Verticale, the extensive Porta Nuova project with the Unicredit Tower, the Palazzo della Regione Lombardia, but also the complete renovation of the Torre Galfa have all convincingly introduced the idea of a Vertical Milan.

But these buildings are just landmarks in a more complex urban fabric that is being renewed and expanded. According to research by the Abitare Co. study centre, more than 200,000 new inhabitants will be arriving in Milan by 2026, and this means that new flats, services and all the functions necessary to accommodate these people will have to be built. In general, we can speak of a widespread transformation of the city and a further increase in interest in real estate assets.

"The driving force is the continuous emergence of start-ups in the city, an increasing number of foreign students, and the attractiveness of a metropolis that is increasingly appreciated internationally for its quality of life and high working standards. Milan today is able to steal the scene from other European metropolises that were previously unchallenged," explains Lorenzo Pascucci, founder of Milano Contract District (MCD) and today one of the best prepared and most aware interpreters of the trends that are changing both the concept of living and the urban landscape of Milan.

Pascucci began developing the idea of MCD in 2016, transforming it today into a solid logistical structure with a team of over 70 professionals. With a concept showroom of over 1,700 m2, the proposal integrates the furnishing and fit-out process with the construction process under a single direction.

MCD brings together the best design brands on the Italian market to offer sector professionals - real estate operators, architects and interior designers - a set of exclusive ready-to-use services designed to best meet the changing needs of the residential property market. Today, Milano Contract District has partnerships on more than 94 building sites in Milan and beyond, with a portfolio of over 2000 residential units to be delivered within the next three and a half years.

Milano Contract District will sign the interiors of 60% of the 2,500 newly built flats planned in Milan for the next four years, establishing itself as the main interior design partner of the most important residential projects that are transforming the city. "A leadership gained thanks to the intuition of proposing for the first time in the real estate world unprecedented services capable of integrating home design with the housing offer, making the quality of the proposal increasingly innovative and aligned to the needs of new classes of buyers," says Pascucci.
