House for modern globetrotters in Florence

Designed by Pierattelli Architetture, the YellowSquare hostel combines informality and great hospitality. The Florentine studio chose Gavatex CLASS130 and CLASS183 fibreglass wall coverings for the corridors and rooms of the hostel.

The new YellowSquare hostel in Florence is housed in a former dispensary, a rationalist building dating back to the 1930s and measuring 5,000 square metres. Pieratelli Architetture's project respects the building's identity and main structural elements, but brings it back to life by creating bright, contemporary spaces. Vitaminic colours such as yellow, orange and green are used in the interiors to define the hostel's identity, combined with playful geometries. The Florence hostel is the third YellowSquare hostel in Italy, along with those in Rome (opened 20 years ago) and Milan ( inaugurated in 2021). The group has become known to young travellers who are looking for not only inexpensive but also special addresses. Just a few steps from the Fortezza da Basso, the hostel has both large, cosy dorms and private rooms. It is designed to meet the needs of contemporary travellers and nomadic communities, with all kinds of services and a refined style.

Gavatex glass fibre wall coverings

The walls of corridors and bedrooms are characterised by the fibreglass wall covering produced by Gavazzi, respectively Gavatex CLASS130 and CLASS183: a technical fabric that combines aesthetics and high performance. Resistance to impact, tearing and fire, guaranteed by the fibreglass, and easy maintenance and cleaning are characteristics that make this covering ideal for the most diverse interior solutions, especially in the Contract sector. Applied on any kind of substrate, Gavatex improves its uniformity, reinforcing the structure of the cladding surfaces, especially in renovation projects.   Gavazzi makes technical fibreglass fabrics the best solution for finishing the interior walls of public, private and business buildings. The use of this material is one of the most innovative ways to meet the decorative and functional needs of all types of environments.
