Object after object, Coin continues to build up its collection of small accessories for the home by young designers. After “Nazionale Italiana Design” in 2007 and Ecal last year, this year they have enlisted the studio 5.5 designers. The four French designers, under the art direction of Cristina Morozzi, have come up with a series of products that are “chic et pas chère”, or cheap and chic. Five shoeboxes have been modified to carry out a series of new functions: shoe cleaning, sewing kit, jewellery box, correspondence, and a multi-plug for recharging various electrical devices. A tree-lamp is decorated with a variable series of clamp spotlights, a pyramid lamp offers three light intensities to save energy, and finally a series of small “Siamese” accessories is formed by two objects that come together and complete one another (a table with two legs and a lamp, a birdcage or a magazine rack).
