After four years of activity, Swiss
association Basta has launched
Doll, a new space dedicated to
contemporary art and design in
Lausanne.
The first “guests” are
Swiss designers Fulguro (alias Yves
Fidalgo and Cédric Decroux) who,
from 22 January to 21 February,
are presenting their highly personal
experimental work in furniture,
product design and graphics.
Their designs are distinguished by
a certain sobriety, calmness and
subtle intelligence. Quite the opposite
of the name chosen to represent
them: “fulguro poing” (screw
crusher punch), which was one of
the secret weapons of Grendizer,
the celebrated robot protagonist
in a 1970s Japanese cartoon.
