Dutch designer Pieke
Bergmans, for example, presents Light
Blubs, big bulbs in blown glass (made
in collaboration with Royal Crystal
Leerdam) with a deformed shape that
have technological LEDs concealed
inside. French designer Philippe Malouin
has put together rubber and wood in
a highly innovative table that can be
inflated and extended to hold up to ten
place settings; when it is deflated it
can be carried inside a canvas bag.
A number of commissions from the gallery feature in the show, experiments by Mike Lamb with laser, stainless steel and sheets of metal to create sculptural tables; a long drawer unit by the French Studio Glithero that borrows techniques used to make scaffolding; luminous mirrors by Marcus Tremonto that along with his wife Monica designs limited editions that create interesting and decorative optical illusions reflecting space; a lamp by Paul Cocksedge covered with black rubber and styrene and a coloured bench in anodised aluminium by Paul Kelley.
