With a video project and a new production, Scapegoat, created at the Galleria Civica in Trento in collaboration with Bak in Utrecht, Dutch artist Aernout Mik (born in 1962) opens his first Italian one man show in a public gallery, curated by Fabio Cavallucci.

For the last ten years his work, a combination of video, performance, photography and sculpture, has been based on an assorted series of disasters: buildings collapsing (Softer Catwalk in Collapsing room, 1999), physical encounters between fake terrorists and guards (Glutinosity, 2001) or between politicians and demonstrators (Vacuum Room, 2005), environmental devastation (Pulverous, 2003), catastrophic car accidents (Refraction, 2004). Aernout Mik’s exhibition is part of the performance project “Il teatro della vita”, organised with the collaboration of six international curators and twelve artists, to create a series of performances in everyday places aimed at examining the relationship between actions and environment.
