Thorn at Light + Building

Through several case histories Thorn shows how easy integration of third party components, such as cameras, can transform an ordinary installation into a smart solution.

At Light + Building 2016 Thorn’s stand guided visitors on a journey across roads, through an urban landscape and into buildings. In the central area of the stand, Thorn presented case studies to bring to life real project examples.

In Copenhagen, for example, Thorn has been working in partnership with partners to create intelligent road and street lighting. Connectivity, intelligence and the new Thor lanterns were combined to use traffic management data to automatically adapt lux levels according to traffic density and standards. A luminaire that offers a truly smart solution for city lighting that is flexible and can integrate components from partners, so it can easily integrate into every city and its management system.
