BiM, a workplace where the Pirelli factory used to be in Milan Bicocca

In Piuarch’s project, the idea is to create not only a state-of-the-art work destination but “an ecological gathering space”.

The Milanese studio Piuarch, in collaboration with the landscape architect Antonio Perazzi, will take care of the project of regeneration of a building designed in the eighties by Vittorio Gregotti in the district of Milano Bicocca on the site of the former Pirelli factory.

The redevelopment project, called BiM, will move 250 million euros involving an area of over 50,000 square meters and two buildings located in Viale dell’Innovazione 3 and Viale Piero and Alberto Pirelli 10.

The project will include 43,300 square meters of office space, 6,000 sqm dedicated to green spaces and gardens, 3,400 sqm to retail spaces and 800 sqm of multi-functional pavilion.

The works – which should be completed by 2026 – will be carried out following the logic of “retrofitting”, recovering and optimizing the existing architectures – from the outer shell to some internal finishes, such as flooring – with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of the project.
