MADE (Mercado de Arte e Design) takes part in Milan’s Salone for the first time, presenting an array of items Made in Brazil, from 19th century indigenous tools to a selection of contemporary works by young designers that have in common “the truth of the material”.
“The exhibition aims to show a current production of Brazilian designers, very much in line with the work of renowned names, such as the example of the Campana brothers. They are new and promising professionals, prepared to make their debut in the international market”, states Waldick Jatobá.

The show tries to outline the characteristics of Brazilian Design today: it is poor in resources, lacking technology, companies and investors. Such absences are compensated by an enormous amount of creativity and great dedications to its roots.
The exhibition begins with a precious collection of indigenous benches. Then, we take a leap in time to presents the international audience with new paths of Brazilian creation. It is made by products and installations, with works created by professionals who have already earned international fame as well as works from young designers, some in the beginning of their careers but that announce a new aesthetic, with Brazilian flavor and a broad language, capable of speaking to distant cultures.
