Among the new products presented by Spanish manufacturer Viccarbe, the Klip chair by Victor Carrasco and Up in the air side tables by Ramón Úbeda and Otto Canalda stood out as fun and functional solutions.

Le novità Viccarbe
Designed by Victor Carrasco to meet an an order for 10,000 chairs from Tokyo Polytechnic university, Klip is a stackable chair in oak plywood whose name makes reference to the slot in the back that serves both as a handle to make it easy to move and a support for hanging bags.

Up in the air meanwhile is a series of two low tables for waiting areas. "I wanted something that was fun" recounts Ramón Úbeda who as well as being designer is art director for BD, Camper and Metalarte – "because I don't like waiting but while I'm waiting I'd like something to contemplate, like goldfish". This gave Úbeda the starting point for a design that was translated into a cylinder with a lacquered surface with handmade resin fish floating in it. The material that fills the concave surface of the table top is a patented ecological resin, an invisible, stable material with advanced technical characteristics, the outcome of industrial research that cannot be disclosed.
