Inspired by the “blotter” and the architect’s drawing board is a stylish and versatile desk by Giorgio Bonaguro for Valsecchi 1918 in solid wood and leather.

For Milan Design Week, Giorgio Bonaguro presents Oscar. First and foremost the materials: solid wood and soft leather, used together.

Inspiration comes partly from the desk blotter that has always been used on top of desks to protect them and partly from architects’ drawing boards (Oscar Niemeyer, that the desk takes its name from, being one!) always crammed with paper and pencils.

The result is Oscar, a desk designed by Giorgio Bonaguro for Valsecchi 1918 that along with the deliberately minimal wooden structure, combines an unusual surface in leather, featuring three soft curves of different widths: informal pockets for keeping drawings, notes, papers or for the less traditionalist, a tablet computer.
