Mischer'traxler is the Austrian duo has won the Young Talent Award, established by the Russian foundation Be Open to help designers join the professional world.

A jury composed of Shay Alkalay (Raw Edges), Giulio Cappellini, Giorgio Galli (design director of Timex Group), Sofia Lagerkvist (Front) and Jay Osgerby (Barber & Osgerby) selected the Austrian duo Mischer'traxler from a shortlist of ten candidates (also Elie Ahovi, Anton Alvarez, Benjamin Graindorge, Philippe Malouin, Kwangho Lee, Humans since 1982, Daniel Rybakken, Dennis Parren and Yuri Suzuki) and presented them with the € 24,000 made available by the Talent Award to cover a year’s studio expenses and enable them to pursue their research.

Young Talent Award
As well as the cash prize, the two designers won a unique piece designed by Barber & Osgerby and inspired by the shape of the egg, symbolising nascent talent ready to hatch.
This week in Milan, Mischer'traxler are presenting the Day by Day rug designed for Nodus and it is on show in the Chiostro of the Facoltà Teologica dell’Italia Settentrionale.
