Pescecappa

Gaetano Pesce has designed a colourful cooker hood for Elica, with humorous shapes inspired by nature.

Elica, the company from Le Marche lead by Francesco Casoli that produces 16 million cooker hoods a year and who have revolutionised the shape of a domestic appliance that for years has looked just the same, never ceases to provoke amazement. At the Furniture Fair they will be presenting a project by Gaetano Pesce that lies half way between art and design. Pescecappa offers a new vision of the ventilating cooker hood, substituting the usual geometric lines with ironic shapes borrowed from fruit and vegetable that we use for cooking and made with innovative materials. “A luminous point of colour – explains Pesce – something that raises a smile when you see it”. For now a concept, it could however soon be part of the catalogue.
