Bang & Olufsen: Hear and Now

A large sprung carpet, unexpected suggestive sounds, pockets of light. Hear and now is the brainchild of Peter Bottazzi for Bang&Olufsen. It is an open invite to get emotionally, sensory and physically involved, which has fascinated and entertained both adults and children. This is a representation of the concept of technology through its magic relation with sound: made with ten sound sources distributed in four locations, a sort of orchestra scattered throughout the premises in Via Senato 10 where one can walk, jump, remain stationary and listen. It is a sea of tranquility that has to be navigated, passing different rubbery, metallic, transparent and shiny surfaces that underline the different sound areas. «The heart beats everywhere in this place» says Botazzi « The epicentre of the ear’s ‘home’, source of spiraling transparent sound tubes». The music and sounds were composed specially for Hear and Now and reproduced by the Bang&Olufsen audio system. (Photo: Donato Di Bello)
