“La Generazione delle Immagini” – conferences on contemporary art in Milan

The Settore Giovani (youth department) of the Comune di Milano is organising their eighth series of conferences on contemporary art “La Generazione delle Immagini”, with well known curators, theorists and artists from around the world. The discussion is centred around the theme “Il desiderio di realta” (the desire of reality), looking at the recent tendency of art to confront and interact with reality.

Eight weekly meetings are planned, the first of which took place last Monday at 18.00 with Minerva Cueva from Mexico at the Triennale Palazzo dell’Arte in Milan in viale Alemagna 6. As in previous conferences, a wide view is sought, involving different nations and cultures in an aim to construct a comprehensive vision of the directions already being taken.

Minerva Cueva will be followed by Shirin Neshat- Iran/US (30 January); Marco Peljhan- Slovenia (4 Febraury); Nedko Solokov- Bulgaria (11 February); Fabrice Hybert-Francia (18 February): Zoe Leonard- US (25 February); Cai Guo Quiang- China (4 March); Carlos Garaicoa- Cuba (11 March).
