The “Crisis collection" consists of a rocking horse, "Morbillo” & "n.7", a coat hanger from unsold stocks, and part of a chair all of which are made out of beech, bent using Thonet's steam system.
Crises becomes bigger day by day. This project demonstrates a possible solution when facing a crisis. This solution is achieved by using unsold items to create something new.
The overall idea would be to apply this solution to other situations in order to make use of unsold stocks. By applying this method, we can utilize materials more effectively, allowing us to create a larger quantity of re-designed models.
After playing with bent beech pieces like a children play with Lego®, the “Crisis Collection” became a rocking horse and a coat hanger. Both of these pieces were developed in collaboration with a factory.
Each piece was treated as a piece of art, with small circulation in order to sustain a good, average price-quality. Moreover, the small circulation was chosen in order to prevent a price decrease.
"Crisis Collection" demonstrates that it is possible to overcome crisis and provide the marketplace with something re-used in a fresh, new way.
