Geometry Stool

Koichi Futatsumata designed, for the “Showcase” exhibition in Tokyo, the prototype of a stool made out of Japanese cypress and copper.

Koichi Futatsumata, Geometry Stool
Geometry Stool is composed of a half split log of Japanese cypress and a copper round rod.
The copper round rod acts as a joint for connecting each half split log, therefore the tangent point of two different materials where logically meet in section has generated geometrical configuration. This stool is one of the new designed prototype stools, which Futatsumata displayed at the exhibition “Showcase” in Tokyo in November 2014.
