Manz, Klenell for Iittala / 66

With a mini shelving unit, a system of shelves and containers and a lamp, Iitala launch their first collection of accessories for the home.

Aitio is a range of shelves and containers in powder-coated steel, wood and plastic designed by Cecilie Manz for Iittala. Aitio (that means “stage” in Finnish) can be used alone or in groups that combine a number of storage units, shelves and hooks. “With Aitio I wanted to create a simple and functional system that was attractive to look at” explains Manz “this range enables you to have everything you need at hand”.
Matti Klenell, Kerros, Iittala
The Kerros shelving unit (Finnish for “layer” or “level”) by Matti Klenell has been designed on two levels to make more space or to create a small display area. Kerros can in fact be used as a side table, as a storage solution inside cupboards and sideboards and also as a tray. “Designing a piece of furniture for Iittala has been a real challenge for me” according to Klenell.
“The idea behind Kerros was that it could be easy to move and adapt to every room: it is perfect as a table for a cup of tea or an aperitif in front of the TV. In fact Kerros is a new kind of object that can be placed anywhere and sits well with any interior style. I find this versatility very interesting”.
