The London Mastaba is Christo’s latest iconic public installation, the first in the United Kingdom. The Bulgarian artist conveived a trapezoidal prism on the Serpentine Lake, formed by 7,506 barrels stacked on a floating platform. The work is accompanied by a free exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery, with the latest works by Christo and Jeanne-Claude and an insight into their passion for barrels.

The 20 meters high sculpture consists of little pixels, coloured of blue, pink and red on the head, and with white stripes on the sides on red.
“For three months, The London Mastaba will be a part of Hyde Park's environment in the centre of London,” said Christo, “the colours will transform with the changes in the light and its reflection on the Serpentine Lake will be like an abstract painting.”
