La Fabbrica del Cioccolato – meaning chocolate factory – is a new foundation, open to every cultural and artistic expression that will launch today the exhibition “Foreignness”, a curatorial, multidisciplinary, two-year project, developed by the artistic director Franco Marinotti, showing two site-specific works of Daniel Gonzàlez and Anna Galtarossa.

The word Foreignness highlights different ways of feeling foreign, stranger and external to a specific reality. “Foreigness” is an art festival that analyses the interaction between art and the territory, meant as an evolving cultural, social, political heritage.

During the opening the whole façade of the factory will be covered by the ephemeral architecture Paper Building, by Daniel Gonzàlez: a monumental 890 square metres installation representing the feeling of being foreign in a context and making the building interact with the audience’s intimate emotions, by several layers of white papers applied to the external facade of the factory.

Kamchatka ’16 by Anna Galtarossa, is a map in the mind of the artist, an exploration of tensions between culture and nature, started by the artist in 2005 in Milan. Her visionary universe will involve visitors in a world with fantasy creatures, featuring the “guardian of the valley”, a figure shaped with local craftsmen and materials.
