We especially introduce the “Nothingness Is Not Nothing At All” by Eliasson, which is his first survey exhibition in a Chinese venue, to explore his approach to invite visitors to look inwards and find their own strategy of telling a story about utopias of everyday life.

“Zakka Goods and Things” by Naoto Fukasawa and “The other architect” by Giovanna Borasi are also exhibitions worthy of attention. The former explores the origin and meaning of the zakka phenomenon, and the latter inspires architects to tackle issues involving the contents of their craft and sometimes pushing them beyond its boundaries.

Two remarkable church projects are presented in this issue to form an interesting contrast. The spectacular reconstruction and installation of the medieval facade of Santa Maria del Fiore with its original statues makes the Sala del Paradiso the main feature of the new museum, while the new ecclesiastical parish complex in Trezzano sul Naviglio embodies a modern and innovative approach to shape parochial spaces.

Residential building projects including the house in the Ajuda district of Lisbon and the residential complex in London are featured to reveal unexpected engagement between old structures and new ones. In a totally different method and scale, the lounges for Qatar Airways Hamad International Airport show a striking architectural practice that generates a gorgeous micro-city inside the mega structure of a terminal.

Last but not least we present the Phaeno Science Centre by Zaha Hadid on the cover of April issue to express our sincere respect and remembrance for its great architect who had passed away on the last day of March.
