Jean-François D'Or is an industrial designer. The Maison des Arts is close to his design studio. He knows the story of that house. He exhibited his work in 2010. The MdA was looking for a curator who could apprehend the place as a living space, with a different look at these pieces entrusted to the artists; a house soon under construction, redevelopment. The last big exhibition before the restoration work of this Museum house.

Jean-François D'Or proposed the interpretation of a duality between a state and a matter: fragility and clay. Earth in all its forms, brick, tiling, faience. The land that will take possession of the floors, walls and precious lounges. Through the accuracy and delicacy of artistic proposals, he expresses their complementarity and encounters and dialogues between people from different backgrounds: ceramist, visual artist, photographer, designer, writer, video artist, sculptor, choreographer, musician. Jean-François D'Or weaves subtle and delicate links with artists and designers. The installations he has chosen, the videos, the everyday or sound objects, the dishes, will shake up the uses of the place with a great diversity of proposals. The exhibition will bring together more political, everyday, and offbeat works. Fragility of the earth, our fragility also. Argile becomes fragile.
