Marinella Senatore winner of New York Prize 2010
30. lug. 2010
Marinella Senatore works in video, installation, photography, and painting to instigate a range of processes that explore the role of the public—both in the creation and reception of her works. Many of Senatore’s light installations, recalls the intricately constructed environments of film sets through her use of specific materials, especially Fresnel lamps. Faithfully employing cinematographic techniques, her installations mimic her memory of the specific lighting conditions within spaces she has experienced in the past. Yet unlike the end result of most cinematic productions, she foregrounds the aesthetics and craft of fictional scenography.
