Color designer, born in Florence , she lives in San Francisco. She designed for Swatch, Apple Computer, Nike, Gilber Paper, Biomega, Herman Miller. “Antonio Garau was my teacher of color and psychology of form at the Polytechnic School of Design in Milan. We did exercises based on color and form theory that investigated the different balances between colors. Other exercises dealt with the relationship between colors and the energy of different shapes. Most significantly, I learned how to mix colors from the primaries, which gave me the understanding of how to create my own hues. When I started working with color, it was only for plastics and textiles. Now, because the technology of materials is changing so fast, I need to gain knowledge and experience quickly. Sometimes new materials are actually driving projects. Nature is always surprising, beautiful and source of inspiration: sometimes I stop and look at things. I say to myself, let’s see what this is, what is here. It’s then that I slow down and try to get the beauty.”

Ha disegnato prodotti per Swatch, Apple Computer, Nike, Gilber Paper, Biomega, Herman Miller. “Antonio Garau è stato il mio maestro di colore e psicologia della forma alla Scuola Politecnica di Design di Milano. Abbiamo fatto esercizi basati sulla teoria del colore e della forma che tratta dei diversi equilibrii dei colori. Altri esercizi avevano a che fare con la relazione tra i colori e l’energia delle diverse forme. Ho imparato come mescolare i colori partendo da quelli primari, che mi hanno dato la capacità di capire come creare le mie gamme. Quando ho cominciato a lavorare con il colore, era solo per plastica e tessuti. Ora, grazie alla tecnologia dei materiali che cambia così rapidamente, devo acquisire conoscenza ed esperienza velocemente. Alcune volte sono i nuovi materiali a orientare le linee di progetto. La natura è sempre sorprendente, bella e fonte di ispirazione: a volte mi fermo e osservo le cose. È allora che poi rallento e cerco di catturarne la bellezza.”
