Domus México Mixtape #2: The Sound of Tlatelolco

Inspired by the sounds of Tlatelolco, in Mexico City, this futuristic, dystopic mix features young and experimental Mexican artists creating a cold, dark and advanced sound.

Domus México Mixtape is a series curated by architect and developer Alberto Bustamante (@demomilton) #mexicanjihad
This mixtape was published in Domus México 02, August / September 2012

The sound of Tlatelolco is a futuristic, dystopic mix. Without any musical allusion to the 1960s, this mixtape is inspired by the generations who didn't experience either the student movement or the bloodbath at first hand; those who only perceive ghosts of the past as they pass through the complex of their surroundings. The selected artists are all Mexican. Even though most of these bands enjoyed no kind of commercial success, they became very influential, experimenting with electronic instruments and creating a cold, young, dark and advanced sound.
