Curt deck chair

Swiss studio Bernhard Burkard's take on the deck chair features a simple frame which has to be leaned against walls, rails, trees or any surface found in the environment.

Swiss design studio Bernhard Burkard has recently designed the Curt deck chair, a simple product devised to be used outdoors. The designers have reduced the chair and and cut away two legs.

Despite the chair's dangerous look, it provides safe and comfortable seating. To achieve the best stability, Curt is meant to be leaned against walls or rails at a flat angle. The anti-slip stand provides a safe grip.

The chair features a simple frame which has to be leaned against walls, rails, trees or any surface in the environment. The frame is manufactured in the sheltered workshop Altra, and is made of local woods, such as ash and beech. The canvas used for the seat is a mixed fabric, specifically for outdoor use.
