Wooden walker

Launched on Kickstarter, Dutch designer Paul Timmer crafted a customized wooden walker for his own father, that represents his personal style and taste.

Dutch designer and woodworker Paul Timmer designed a walker that merges functionality and custom design. Unlike average walkers, that tend to underline the immobility issue, the wooden version designed by Timmer stimulates a reflection on this critical topic.

Designed for his own father who needed one, the walker is meant to be an extension of people’s personal style and appearance, instead of being a solely functional support aid on wheels. The walker has a light frame and it is possible to sit on it. The storage space on top is inspired by a fruit crate that is functional, yet sturdy. This version is still a working prototype, but production can be crowdfunded through a campaign that just started.
