The constructor of the new campus building of Turku University of Applied Sciences, Finland, gave design students the possibility to design and realise new experimental furniture concepts to the future learning environment. The group decided to grasp the challenge and formed Taitoi. During a year-long project Taitoi studied the needs of education in the perspective of students and staff alike.

The group designed products with core themes of consideration of individuality and personal space, well-being of mind and body and easy adjustability of space. With its ascetic design Huomaan takes over the space just the way the user wants it to. The possibility to arrange the space to meet everyone’s individual needs enhances relaxedness and flexibility in the studying environment. Kumla creates a private hideout where one can take a break from outside commotion. It is designed so that it provides proper premises for working in attrition to lounging and calming down.
