Reminiscent of Ellsworth Kelly’s artistic work, the side tables designed by Swedish firm Claesson Koivisto Rune merge like the ruler-drawn lines of the US states’ borders.

Swedish architectural firm Claesson Koivisto Rune designed a furniture collection for Dux comprising a series of side tables, sofas, and chairs, depicted by renowned architecture photographer Fernando Guerra.

The Arizona, Dakota, Montana and Ohio “occasional tables” were inspired by forms and shapes in the work of the American artist Ellsworth Kelly. They become a coffee table when grouped together, just like in the ruler-drawn lines of the US states’ borders, where they merge with natural geometries. The sides of two tables are never the same length, since they’re not meant to fit perfectly together, but they’re easy to refurbish and fit in space. The four tables share their inspirational source with the Sun and the Moon cabinets, which work well together as sideboards in the same room.
