Awards will be given in the following three categories: Integration – devices, materials, products, services or systems designed to integrate with existing technology, traditional building elements/construction. Retrofit – devices, materials, products, services or systems designed to be added to existing buildings to improve energy efficiency. Aesthetic Quality and Economic Sustainability: devices, materials, products, services or systems designed to offer easily available compositional and constructional quality, with a competitive price compared to what is already on the market.

The jury has the option to assign up to three honourable mentions, one in each category, plus one grand prize. The jury members are experts who work and build cutting-edge designs internationally: Chiara Tonelli – Università Roma Tre, Gabriele Masera – Milan Polytechnic, Thomas Herzog – Thomas Herzog Architekten, Alfonso Senatore – Ongreening.com, Oskar Stuffer – CasaClima consultant, Ulrich Klammsteiner – Agenzia CasaClima deputy director, Matteo Orlandi – Arup Italia.

The evaluation of candidates will include jury visits to the stands at the trade show to directly scout examples of excellence among the products on display. The awards will be announced during a prize ceremony on the evening of 26 January 2017 at the Klimahouse Academy arena, stand C21/54. The first-prize winners in each category will be awarded with the production of a three-minute video (subtitled in English) dedicated to their product.
