Closca: Fuga

After studying the needs of the new cyclists generations, Closca Design conceived a high-tech collapsible helmet that can easily fit in bags or backpacks.

Fuga is the second series of collapsible helmets from Closca, developped in collaboration with CuldeSac, designed for the new generations of urban cyclists, winner of the Delta Design Awards for industral design, held in Barcelona during the FADfest.

Closca Fuga comprises three mobile concentric rings hinged together with two stable positions. Its system reduces volume by more than 50% after fold and becomes flat like a book, fitting in any purse or backpack.

The helmet stays locked and immutable while the head is inside, but folds smoothly in a second when is not used. Unfolded, it acts as any regular helmet does exceeding the global safety standards. The inner structure with reinforced fiberglass, EPS and PC achieves maximum impact absorption capability with minimum thickness, while the innovating ventilation system with hidden air vents improves cyclists’ sunstroke head protection.
