Interieur 2016: Spaces

Interieur 2016, organised by ​​OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen, unveiled the 5 winning designs of the “Spaces” section, showing a strong connection between design and food.

Organised by OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen, in partnership with visual artist Richard Venlet and graphic designer Joris Kritis, the 25th Biennale Interieur in Kortrijk, Belgium, will take place from 14-23 October 2016.

“Silver Lining – Interiors” is the theme and approach conceived by the curatorial team. With “Silver Lining”, they bring a tribute to the 25th festive edition of the Biennale Interieur, while the subtitle “Interiors” aims to explicate the possibilities of the designed environment.

The Biennale Interieur is unlike any other design event in the world, focusing on strong curated content to captivate its visitors. The biennial Interieur Awards play an important part in the creation of bespoke projects for the event, and Biennale Interieur were delighted to witness the outstanding quality of 80 entries received from 20 countries. This was the second edition of the Spaces category for the Interieur Awards. The focus for contestants was on the design of a bar environment, showing a strong connection between design and food concept. The international jury took up the difficult task of judging the anonymous entries and selected 5 winning designs.

Winning proposals are: Terra, a concept by Carolien Pasmans, Bram Aerts and Claudio Saccuci of TRANS Architectuur en Stedenbouw in Ghent (Belgium); Le Banquet Gaulois, a concept by Matteo Ghidoni from Milan (Italy) and Jean-Benoît Vétillard from Paris (France); We are family, a concept by Pauline Deltour, Anne-Laure Gautier and Gwenaëlle Girard of En Bande Organisée from Paris (France); Bar Nose, a concept by Mayu Takasugi from Tokyo (Japan) and Johannes Berry from South Africa; Made/Found a concept by Jon Kleinhample and Maša Lončarič of Klein Agency in Antwerp (Belgium).
