The result of a lengthy research process – started in 1992 by San Lorenzo in collaboration with Afra and Tobia Scarpa – on the use of 999 pure silver and the development of a new system, now protected by an international patent, the new PAN 999 collection of cooking utensils is made out of pure iron on the outside and pure silver on the inside.
Pure silver, used in cooking, has known and important properties: it produces a bactericidal action, viricida, and fungicide; also it is free from copper, lead, aluminum, nickel, chromium, cadmium, cobalt, paints, resins and non-stick PFOA.

Silver, which is the best heat conductor among metals and spreads the heat uniformly, makes it possible to cook quickly at low heat, preserving the antioxidant properties and nutritional values of foods as they cook and preventing them from burning.

The iron, used on the outside of the utensils, reinforces the properties of the silver, reducing heat dispersion and guaranteeing that the object can be used on induction or glass–ceramic cooktops, gas burners and ovens.

Manufactured entirely in Italy and recyclable, all the utensils in the PAN 999 collection are finished in semi-matte silver and are dishwasher-safe.
