Homme Plissé Issey Miyake

Skin-pleasing thin fabrics, light meshes and the the development of Miyake pleats defines the new menswear collection by Issey Miyake.

Homme Plissé Issey Miyake is a new men’s clothing line with its origins in the development of Miyake pleats.

As these garments are designed for men, a thick fabric is used as the basic material. The pleats are engineered with a constant width and regular spacing to provide maximum comfort and the fabric we have employed absorbs perspiration to keep the body dry.

In addition, this material is manufactured under the Product Pleats process whereby the pleating takes place after sewing, resulting in lighter and easier movement, carefree wearability, ease of maintenance, and good portability.

This season’s line-up features experimental new materials developed for use in the spring and summer climate, including skin-pleasing thin fabrics and light meshes. The colorful palette features oceanic green-blue gradations, sandy beiges, and sunny oranges to evoke images of the natural environment at this time of year. Prints feature graphical patterns based on motifs of the animals live wild and free in untamed wilderness.
