Operazione Arcevia

Operazione Arcevia is a cultural foundation and a creative lab initiated by Nicolò Spina, UNIT+ and Riserva Privata San Settimio which aims to ignite action through collaboration.

Operazione Arcevia is the rebirth of an utopian project by Ico Parisi and Italo Bartoletti, shown in the Venice Architecture Biennale in 1976.

Starting with an initial survey of the area, through a series of workshops a number of installations were developed inside and outside the Reserve (Riserva Privata San Settimio), with both collaborators and installations increasing in number every year.

Some of the structures built during the Operazione Arcevia workshops, are: Pavilion, a frame structure made of recycled pallets picturing the landscape; the Brash, an intimate space constructed as a nest with natural materials from the local area; Nº 3, a 9m tall camera obscura constructed from local natural materials; and the LIVE Palazzo strategy, composed of a series of installations built in different medieval feuds of the council of Arcevia that aim to re-valorise tourism.

The focus of the project now is to create a multidisciplinary platform for students to collaborate.
