Maison&Objet 2014

Opening on September 5, Maison&Objet features an exhibition and an award to honour the best interior-design solutions and products on view and three forums on the theme “Sharing”.

Maison&Objet 2014
One of the key characteristics of this new Maison&Objet, scheduled in Paris from September 5 to September 9,  is the development of the “Maison&Objet| projets|” show.
The exhibition is in conjunction with the introduction of the Maison&Objet | projets | Awards created to honour the best interior-design solutions and products presented at the show.

The focus of “Maison&Objet| projets|” is to apply Maison&Objet’s cross-disciplinary view to craftsmanship and the finishing industry. Unlike for more specialised shows, this selection blends a wide variety of trades and skills that have exclusivity and creativity in common, to stimulate their becoming more a part of high end architectural projects.

To support design in the realm of architectural solutions, the fair is introducing the Maison&Objet | projets | Awards.

This competition, open through to 24 June 2014 to the exhibitors, recognisees the most innovative products presented at the show with two awards granted by the public and an international judges’ panel.

To streamline the visitor experience in the world of technical solutions presented at “Maison&Objet| projets|”, as well as boosting the realm’s impact, the organisers have entrusted its scenography to architect, designer and scenographer Philippe Boisselier. Steered by the inspiration of an urban environment, Boisselier is installing six pavilions in Hall 7, structures that form an aligned arrangement of longitudinal blocks surrounded by white signage elements against a black floor.

In Hall 7, visitors will find an abundance of inspiration sources, with three inspirations forums centred on the theme Sharing: ʻSmart Lifeʼ by Vincent Grégoire for NellyRodi; ʻWordsʼ by Elizabeth Leriche; ʻExperientialʼ by François Bernard.

The “Talents à la Carte” exhibition, introducing an array of six young French talents: Stéphane Margolis, Ruiz-Stephinson, Joseph Meidan and Marion Duclos, Fabien Cappello, Férreol Babin, Romain Guillet and Louise de Saint Angel.

The “Light Trend” exhibit, by Akari-Lisa Ishii and Motoko Ishii, showcases the latest innovations in lighting technologies.

The Spa is an experimental space exploring the world of well-being designed by Simone Micheli and made completely from prototypes. The display’s primary elements are variable geometrics, sounds, scents and intelligent features. A centrally positioned video installation reveals a selection of works in progress and designs from the architect.

During the show, “MatériO – Let’s share!”, the innovative materials library, will be sharing its online database and offering opportunities for dialogue about material-related questions and challenges. The stand provides an overview of the MatériO showroom where the visitors can use the online search tool to access the material specs, enjoy hands-on experiences with the samples, meet the pros during daily flash presentations while also sharing – in real time – their visions of material and technology on social networks.
