Among the residences, we present anew the article about Villa Mecklin, a self-build project in Velkua, Finland, designed by Huttunen-Lipasti-Pakkanen Architects as simple as possible and built at a leisurely pace, Cave, a house cladded in a metal box to create a private courtyard designed by the Japanese architect Eto Kenta in the Oita Prefecture and the Jewel Box, a project in which Fraher Architects lifted a basement and ground floor within a townhouse in London from a dark and disjointed flat, into a light, spacious garden home with secret garden study.
Garage CCC, in Moscow, is an education centre into a 40’s abandoned building, previously a kindergarten, next to the Garage’s exhibition pavilion by Shigeru Ban, designed by Form, whilst Pulp Press is a permanent site-specific artist-architect commission designed by John Gerrard for Kistefos Museum – one of Scandinavia’s largest parks of contemporary sculpture.
Finally, our selection of the best projects presented during Milan Design Week at Salone del Mobile and at FuoriSalone.
