Benjamin Hubert: Shell / 68

In Benjamin Hubert’s sofa for Moroso, a wood frame and foam seat are fixed with geometric precision via a zip.

A streamlined structure, open as if to underline the lack of filling; an abstract volume defined by a wooden frame, simple, elementary. These are the elements that characterise the new sofa by Benjamin Hubert for Moroso.

Its shell is a genuine element of construction but also an elegant architectural detail while a small number of separate blocks in polyurethane foam give shape to the seat. Like a modular construction, the joint is precise, geometrically determined: a long zip along the edge of the seat provides the fixing for the cover. A single cover that adheres perfectly making it easy to fit as well as clean. This is industrial design, led by the characteristics of the materials throughout the entire process, from idea to end user.
