Fukasawa: Itka

The Japanese designer presents Itka, a new floor lamp for Danese which combines two functions in one sole object, maintaining Fukasawa's traditional minimal aesthetic.

Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa has designed the new Itka floor lamp for Italian manufacturer Danese. The Itka floor lamp is the result of a combination between two previous product families — the Itka lamps and the Bincan furnishings — which Fukasawa has developed with the brand in previous years.

Itka maintains Fukasawa's traditional minimal aesthetic, serving a double purpose, as a furniture item and a lamp. As a lamp, Itka has a diffused light, and at different heights, can be used indoors or outdoors. The lamp can feature a simple base, or achieve an added functionality as a small bin or container.

Available in red, white, and black, the Itka lamp also comes in two different heights: 173 cm and 116 cm. According to Danese, the lamp "sums up all the attributes of the preceding versions: an extra¬ordinary blend of aesthetics, perceptible material quality, performance features and energy efficiency."
