Most of these professionals are young architects who seek, through new technology and innovations, to leave their mark on each building and contribute to the development of their countries. The new generations not only use new technologies, but also try to recover the history and vernacular typologies, adapting them to the present day.

This issue of Domus Mexico, America Central y el Caribe, includes the best of the today generation’s works. We show the winner of the Domus prize for innovation and design at the XIII Biennial of Architecture 2016 in Costa Rica. In addition, an emerging office of Mexican architects, who are doing projects in the United States and Mexico, gave us the exclusive look at a project located in the state of Guanajuato. It is the first phase of a complex designed in several stages for a Hare Krishna community.

In El Salvador, design offices like The Carrot Concept in conjunction with universities and museums support culture and industrial design producing objects that follow international trends. In Honduras, professionals will share their experience about the importance of having young architects in their design and architecture offices. A group of young professionals from Guatemala, take the lead in generating innovative proposals in various architectural competitions and young generations of Nicaraguan designers stand out with their projects and their influence in their cities.
