Domus Circular for the Milan Furniture Fair

This year’s Domus event for the Furniture Fair will take place at the San Siro stadium on the night of Thursday April 14th from 6 pm to 6 am the next morning.

Stefano Boeri anticipates the “Domus Circular” event with these words: “For an entire night, Europe’s foremost soccer stadium will turn into a public piazza, open to all kinds of different interaction that caters to wide and unexpected range of tastes. Visitors will follow a series of events that will flame up and die down like transitory flickering in the night, in the way places outside the city are increasingly functioning. At Domus Circular, soccer’s great spaceship - an arena of polarizing, single-focus, synchronized events - will open up to the surrounding neighbourhood, to the city, to the world and embrace variety and open-endedness.

Promoted by Domus magazine in collaboration with Agenzia Asansiro and Rolling Stone magazine, the initiative will show new and exciting ways of using this venue that is such an important part of life in Milan, and demonstrate the extraordinary potential and adaptability of its giant container-like building.

Participating personalities and groups from architecture, art, culture and music include Pietro Pirelli/Agon, Matthew Barney, Elisabetta Benassi, Carlos Casas, Cao Fei, Giuseppe Ielasi, Natalie Djurberg, Jimmie Durham, Yona Friedman, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Kinkaleri, ogi:noknauss, Thomas Köner, Arto Lindsay, Armin Linke, Marcello Maloberti, Pedro Reyes and Luca Vitone.

Also involved in the Domus Circular event: the Interaction Design Institute of Ivrea, the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design of London, Domus Academy, the Naba-Nuova Academy of Fine Arts of Milan and the IUAV University of Venice.
