Demons, Yarns and Tales

In 2005 the artists’ group Banners of Persuasion came up with the idea of giving new life and meaning to worn and outmoded red brocades.

They invited 14 young international up-and-coming artists to design 14 tapestries. At last, after three years, the time has come to admire the fruit of their work: a unique collection of art tapestries ranging from the silhouettes superimposed on images of the American Civil War, by African American Kara Walker, to the coloured graffiti of Grayson Perry, a British artist and winner of the Turner Prize, which invite you to “Vote Alan Measles for God”. On show at The Dairy, London, from 10 to 22 November.
