Three cities for one show

A four-handed work created especially for spaces offered by three different cities: Como, Milan and Brescia. This unusual and original collaboration, hosted by the Casa del Fascio in Como, the Francesca Minini gallery in Milan and the Massimo Minini gallery in Brescia represents a kind of generational dialogue between French artist Daniel Buren (born in Paris in 1938) and Jan De Cock of Belgium (born in Brussels in 1976) in his first one-man-show in Italy.

Denkmal 4 (meaning monument) is the title of the site-specific work by De Cock. It is a homage to the Giuseppe Terragni’s Casa del Fascio which for ten days in October was transformed by the sculptural wooden boxes by the young Belgian artist, revisited by the French master who added the characteristic 7.8-centimetre-wide white vertical strips, his unmistakable hallmark.
