Shirin Neshat at the Castello di Rivoli
An Iranian artist known for her work illustrating women and their condition between East and West is coming to Castello di Rivoli near Turin. Shirin Neshat, who lives in New York, has contributed to the exhibition curated by Giorgio Verzotti with a selection of photographs and four video installations, three of which have never before been shown in Italy: "Passage", the only in colour, with music by Philip Glass; "Pulse" and "Possessed" in black and white, which includes the collaboration of Deyhim for the music.
All the artist’s work reflects her biographical experience; leaving Iran to study in the US, the impossibility of returning in her own country for many years as a result of the revolution and her eventual return with the upsetting discovery of a world radically changed.
