Moooi, A life extraordinary, Milan 2017
Moooi turned life extraordinary transforming the 1,700 sqm Spazio Savona 56 into an opulent late nineteenth century living environment, with giant insects pictured on the wall, black pigs carrying fruit dishes and embroidered dark leather sofas standing vertical in the middle of the room. A special place out of time that aimed to amuse, with old-fashioned cocktail bars, living rooms, restaurants, fumoir (no real sigarettes allowed), and secred corners.

Exploring the world of interiors with hospitality in mind, Moooi focused on different areas which reflects its ideas around settings like hotels, restaurants, lobbies, offices, homes and bars. On the background of each environment the photography of Levon Biss brought to life gigantic representations of microscopic insect portraits. Bertjan Pot, Maarten Baas, Edward van Vliet, Marcel Wanders, Luca Nichetto, Frank Tjepkema, Joost van Bleiswijk, Kit Miles, Neal Peterson, Noortje van Eekelen & Rick Tegelaar have all created new designs and product extensions for Moooi and Moooi Carpets with products that range from sofas, armchairs and chairs, tables, lamps and textiles.
