The apartment by Brera studio in Manila opens to a city of high and low buildings – with a roadside scruffy warehousing sit side by side along with sleek skyscrapers.

This apartment is located on top of irregularly cut stack of boxes that once were learning halls of a design campus. It is a totally unique and original living space. Characterised with an aperture to a city of high and low buildings – with a roadside garage, modernist office buildings and scruffy warehousing sit side by side along with sleek skyscrapers.

Contrasting to the post-industrial neighborhood, the apartment has an all-white exterior with minimalistic geometries. Pared-back with highly utilitarian materials like steel, is used to highly functional to hyper decoration. Ordinary materials give a familiar and informal setting to the apartment. Inspired by the city that surrounds them, interiors are a mix and match of stuff combined with subtlety and that tell a story. A monolithic partitioning multimedia shelf links living and dining areas. The apartment features large format windows, allowing natural light to illuminate the internal spaces and bounce of the unfolding interior with lightness.
